Google Play Music is an Android app that allows users to take advantages of all the features offered by Google Music on their mobile devices.

Google Play Music has long been in development and is Google's answer to Apple's iTunes. As a result, if you're familiar with iTunes, you'll find that this app has many very similar features, just with different names. Google Play Music first serves as a cloud music repository. Users can upload MP3s of songs and then play them back through the app. There's even a convenient "offline download" feature that allows users to keep songs for when they don't have an internet connection on their devices.

It also has an embedded music player that functions just as well as the built-in Android music player, if not better. Oddly, it comes with visualizations, which are somewhat of an artifact in the music playback business, but it's an interesting feature nonetheless.

Google Play Music also has a music matching service that is free, unlike its competitors' services. You can upload songs, and Google will match it with songs in their library, even if they are of better quality. Essentially, this means that you will be able to get high quality, fully tagged versions of any of your songs that can be recognized by Google's engine.

It comes with a set amount of free storage that changes frequently. If you want more storage, you'll need to pay more for it. However, the free storage amount will give you at least thousands of songs, and if you bought your songs on Google, those will not be counted against your limit.

Regardless of how you obtain your music, Google Music can help you enjoy your music. It's great for categorizing your music and streaming it back. The only real downside is that there is not free and unlimited storage, but there's an huge array of features that are completely free already.
